Fireplace Remodel Pictures
This fireplace remodeling project was submitted by Amy. Here is what Amy had to say about their diy project:
The fireplace wall is 8 foot wide by 8 foot tall.
We gutted the entire brick wall and removed the zero clearance fireplace.
Installed new zero clearance fireplace, cultured stone, hearth, crown moulding.
before...previous homeowners painted the brick white. The bottom half is stripped. Top half still to go.
before...stripped all the paint away. I lived with it for a couple of years this way but wanted to make the investment into an epa-approved fireplace that would heat my house in the winter.

removal...took all the bricks down and here is want a zero clearance fireplace looks like. Oh the dust!

lathe...the lathe, mantel and new fireplace are in place

scratch coat...scratch coat applied and beginning the stone work
 stones...partially done
 after...finally, finished.
